Physical Therapy appeared in a list by careercast.com of underrated jobs, alongside positions such as dietitian and civil engineer. One reason is that the unemployment rate for PTs in 2010 was 2%. Some of the overrated professions included law, medicine and psychology. What do you think?
Just in time for National Physical Therapy month, The New York Times has printed an article about the increase in nurses, pharmacists and physical therapists pursuing doctorate degrees, and whether it is right for such professionals to consider themselves “doctors.” I’m curious what others think of the changes, especially since in four years, I hope to be a doctor of physical therapy myself!
